The village of Repyevka is located 8 km southeast of the city of Inza, on the banks of the Inza River. In the past, it was part of the Gorodishchensky district of the Penza province. The founding of the village dates back to 1721 and 1725 and is associated with the names of Lieutenant Colonel Gavriil Nikitich Repyev and Lieutenant V.D. Neklyudov. In the 19th century, the village belonged to Nikolai Timofeevich Aksakov, the brother of the writer Sergey Timofeevich Aksakov.

The stone church in Repyevka was built in 1850 thanks to the efforts of State Councillor N.T. Aksakov. One of its altars is dedicated to Archangel Michael, and the other to Alexander Nevsky. The parish included the villages of Repyevka, Selivanovka, Andriyanovka, and Koldaiss. In the 1930s, the church was closed, the bells were removed, and the icons were taken out. The last priest was Andrei Mikhailovich Arkhangelsky. According to local residents, there were attempts to destroy the church, but it withstood. From the 1930s to the 1950s, the building was used as a grain storage facility. The church is now abandoned and partially ruined.

The church is located in the center of the village on a small square. Its high cubic volume is topped with a dome on a light drum. The apse and refectory are of lesser height. The bell tower consists of tiers of equal width and height and is topped with a small dome. The entrances to the church are equipped with stairs on three sides. The temple is square in plan, covered with a dome vault on a cylindrical drum, which rests on arches. The apse is semicircular, and the refectory is rectangular with wooden ceilings. The bell tower is two-tiered and square in plan.

The Church of Archangel Michael in Repyevka has a traditional volumetric-spatial composition. The apse adjoins the refectory and bell tower. The dimensions of the church are 28x10.6 m. The walls of the temple, apse, and refectory are pierced with arched openings framed with stucco. The entrances and the lower tier of the bell tower have rectangular openings with decor. The upper tier of the bell tower is adorned with arched openings with metal grilles. The dome drum with eight windows is topped with a cornice. The corners of the temple and bell tower are treated with pilasters, and the tops of the walls are decorated with an entablature. The windows retain wrought iron grilles. The interior walls were plastered, the cornice and ceiling stucco remain, but the wooden floors have been lost. Under the refectory, there is a crypt.

The church in Repyevka is a cultural heritage site and a monument of history and culture of regional significance, known as "The Church of Archangel Michael, a two-altar Orthodox parish church," built in 1850.
