The village of Pitim is first mentioned in the revision documents of 1834 as the village of Pitim, which was part of the Burnak volost of the Borisoglebsky district. The village was founded by monks' peasants who moved from the village of the same name in the Pichaevsky district. In 1889, a wooden church was built in the village with the funds of the parishioners. The temple was closed in 1938, but services resumed in 1949 and have not ceased since then.

The main part of the church composition is a square base, on which stands a light octagon with a dome and a small cupola. On the eastern side, it is adjoined by a pentagonal altar apse, and on the western side, there is a rectangular refectory with a gable roof and a three-tiered bell tower with a tall spire. The church is clad in planks and painted in a soft blue color, with snow-white carved patterns and window frames. Today, the Church of Archangel Michael continues to operate, witnessing many historical events and remaining a spiritual center and the main decoration of the village.
