Grand Duke Alexei Mikhailovich granted land to a serving man, shooter Ivan Kunkin, by the White spring. Ivan Kunkin received this place instead of the extinct poor owners. A noble house and a house for the household people were located here. The revived settlement began to be called Kunkino after the surname of the shooter. Documents mention that Kunkino already belongs to the brothers Yesipov, Vladimir and Nikolai.

In 1811, Vladimir Mikhailovich sold his share to Ivan Nefedyevich Pashkevich. On February 3, 1811, the district court ruled to introduce Pashkevich into possession of the estate he purchased. Pashkevich acquired land from the second brother and expanded his holdings. For the convenience of land cultivation, he resettled peasants and named the village Alexandria in honor of his daughter Alexandra.

Pashkevich, who died young, left all his estate to his underage daughter Alexandra, and his wife Evdokia became her guardian. Over time, Alexandra married Pavel Fyodorovich Rogachev, a participant in the Patriotic War of 1812.

The wooden church, built by the Rogachevs in 1850, is surrounded by a stone fence. The church stands apart, on the edge of the village, rising on a hill above the ponds and the Studeny stream.

The church has two altars. The main, cold altar is dedicated to the Archangel Michael, while the warm altar is dedicated to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker. A stone chapel has been built on the site of the former church. The church land consists of 33 desyatinas of arable land, of which 5 desyatinas are under the road. The clergy consists of a priest and a psalmist, who have their own houses. The salary from the treasury is 300 rubles for the priest and 100 rubles for the psalmist.

During the Soviet era, the church building was used as a grain storage facility for the collective farm 'Russia' in the Sursky District of the Ulyanovsk Region.

Currently, the object is ownerless and is in unsatisfactory condition.

The Committee of the Ulyanovsk Region for Cultural Heritage has organized a state historical and cultural examination to decide on the inclusion or refusal of this object in the register of historical and cultural monuments. At the same time, the Committee has sent requests to state archives to identify historical and archival materials about this object.
