Church of the Korsun Icon of the Mother of God in Kuznechikha

Фото 1
The church dedicated to the Korsun Icon of the Mother of God was built in 1756 with funds from Mikhail Petrovich Bakhmetev. This stone building featured five domes and a tiered bell tower, which unfortunately have not survived. The church had three altars: in honor of the Korsun Icon of the Mother of God, Saint Nicholas, Archbishop of Myra in Lycia, and the Great Martyr Paraskeva, known as "Friday," as well as Equal-to-the-Apostles Mary Magdalene. By the end of the 19th century, the building fell into disrepair. From 1895 to 1900, under the guidance of Priest Nikolai Andreevich Vinogradov, the church was restored and re-consecrated. The architecture of this church is unusual, and now we can only speculate how it looked with the bell tower and five domes.
