The Russian Orthodox village, located on the banks of the Berezovka River, which flows into the Borovka River, was founded in 1819 on lands granted to retired lieutenant Philip Tverdilov, after whom it was named. Tverdilovo did not have its own church; the villagers belonged to the church parish in the neighboring village of Lokhovka, where a church was built with community funds. In 1837, a convoy with heir Alexander II, accompanied by poet Zhukovsky, passed through Tverdilovo along a new postal route. The village developed, and by 1905 it already had its own school. Only in 2005, after many years, did the construction of a church in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God begin in the modern village of Tverdilovo.
