According to historical and archival data, in the village of Stara Izmaylovka, located by the Yeyvil River, there is a school and a horse-breeding farm of Shatrov. On October 5, 1897, a stone church in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God was consecrated in this village of the Karsun district, built with funds from N.Ya. Shatrov.

The church is located on the bank of a small, now overgrown, artificial pond. Its volumes stand out against the backdrop of low-rise buildings. The layout of the church is traditional: the temple, refectory, and bell tower are aligned from east to west. The upper tiers of the bell tower have been lost. In addition to the eastern apse, the church has two more apses to the north and south. On the western side, the apse is replaced by the refectory, which has the main entrance. The walls of the refectory and apses are decorated with brick patterns, square niches, dry bricks, and a profiled cornice. The high windows provide good lighting for the interior. The windows of the apses and refectory are framed at the top with a large profiled roll and a figured cord.

The central part of the temple is covered by an octagonal dome on sails and supporting arches, which transfer the load to the walls. In the three-part altar, the vaults have a cylindrical shape. Overall, the interior is spacious and harmonious.

Since 2012, partial restoration work has been carried out at this site.

The church is of interest as an example of eclectic architecture, combining elements of various styles from past eras. Currently, the Kazan church is in a state of abandonment.
