Driving along the highway from Knyaginino towards Sergach in the Nizhny Novgorod region, one cannot help but notice the grim grandeur of the Orthodox church, standing alone amidst the fields. According to the General Staff map, there is a village with the unusual name Nutrenka. The architecture of the church immediately attracts attention, as it is more suited for a large city than for a village church. There are only a few sparse lines about this church on the internet. It is known that it was built around 1862 in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. However, the archives of the Nizhny Novgorod Spiritual Consistory mention a petition from retired ensign Y.Y. Moiseev, a landowner from the village of Nutrenka, requesting permission to build a church, dated March 21, 1777. It is likely that there was another church here before, probably wooden, which was destroyed over time or as a result of a fire, and a stone church was erected in its place. Even today, the church impresses with its grandeur and beauty. The porticos of the side entrances, supported by columns, the high dome, all of this is a remnant of past splendor. Inside the church, especially on the dome, fragments of beautiful frescoes have been preserved.
