In the land registry books preserved in the Archive of the Ministry of Justice for the years 1660 and 1670, there is mention of a wooden church in honor of the Most Pure Mother of God of Kazan, located in the village of Novoselki on the Kutra River. Two priests served at the church, and there was also a prosphora bakery. On the church land, there were two homesteads of the poor, who were fed by the church. There were arable lands and plowed church lands: 11 desyatins in the field and 1 desyatin under the cemetery, as well as 50 bundles of hay. This record shows that a new Kazan church was built in Novoselki, receiving a land allotment. More detailed information about the population and churches of the village is contained in the land registry books of the Murom palace volosts from 1676, where Novoselki is mentioned as a 'State arable village.' The temple was built with the funds of parishioners and adorned with icons. At that time, priests Afanasy and Mikhail served there. The second wooden church in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was built with the funds of priest Alexei Ageev and had two bells. The third wooden church in honor of St. Righteous Alexius, the Man of God, was built in 1650, and its utensils belonged to priest Afanasy Ageev.

Around the churches of the Most Pure Mother of God of Kazan and Alexius, the Man of God, there were fences covered with wooden planks. On the church land, there were the houses of priests, a sacristy, a prosphora bakery, and two poor households. In total, Novoselki had 48 peasant households and 10 poor households.

From 1802 to 1810, a stone church was built in Novoselki with the funds of a prosperous peasant, Yakov Vavilov. The new church had two altars: the main one in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God and in the refectory, in the name of Archangel Michael. From 1849 to 1853, the refectory was expanded, a new stone bell tower was built, and an altar in honor of St. Great Martyr Catherine was added. The church was well supplied with utensils, vestments, and icons. In the iconostasis of the cold church, there were icons painted during the construction of the temple in 1809, especially revered by parishioners, the icons of the Savior and the Kazan Mother of God. In the warm church, the icons of the Savior Jesus Christ, the Kazan and Tikhvin Mothers of God, and Alexius, the Man of God, were distinguished by their antiquity. The temple was built on the edge of a slope at the site of an old wooden church that had fallen into disrepair.

In the late 19th century, the archpriest of the third Novoselki district of the Murom county was priest Gavriil Alekseevich Valedinsky, and in 1898 he was succeeded by Pavel Smirnov. This is confirmed by church metric books preserved in the Vachsky district archive of the Civil Registry Office.

From 1896 to 1917, the priest of the Novoselki church was Ivan Ivanovich Pokrovsky, with psalmists Gavrila Pokrovsky and Nikolai Levitsky, and deacons Evgeny Preobrazhensky and Grigory Znamenky.

In the 1930s, the church began to be destroyed, and church utensils and icons were taken away. The former church building was turned into a warehouse, and after a major renovation, into a village club. At that time, priest Mikhail Ivanovich Mramorov served in the Novoselki parish, who was arrested on November 2, 1937, and shot on December 2 of the same year.

On September 12, 2012, a significant event took place for the residents of Novoselki and the district: in the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God Church, Bishop Varnaava of Vyksa and Pavlovsk performed the Great Consecration of the altar. A divine service was held, a procession took place, holy water was sprinkled, and then a festive liturgy was celebrated. New utensils, an altar, and a high iconostasis were installed in the church. The floors shine with a mirror gloss, a wrought-iron fence surrounds the church, and the area is paved with cobblestones.
