In the forest on the outskirts of the village of Nesterkovo stands an ancient church dedicated to the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. The exact date of construction of the brick building is unknown, but it is believed to have been erected in the 19th century. It is difficult to determine more precisely, as the church was built according to a typical design, and the neoclassical style was popular throughout this century. The history of the parish before the 20th century has been lost due to marauders who, in the 1930s, after the ban on worship by the Soviet authorities, looted the church. According to local elders, books and records were used for rolling cigarettes.

The architecture of this forgotten monument of Russian architecture includes a two-story rectangular building with a massive light drum in the center, on which there was once a dome. On the western side, a rectangular refectory with a gabled roof adjoined the church, connected to a three-tiered bell tower topped with a metal spire.

Currently, the church urgently needs restoration; however, according to available information, no work is planned in the near future.
