The church in the village of Mikhaltsevo was founded in 1740 and has two altars: one in honor of the Kazan Mother of God, the other for the Archangel Michael.
The Kazan church, built of stone, is a parish church and operates in both summer and winter. The summer altar is dedicated to the Kazan Mother of God, while the winter altar is dedicated to Archangel Michael. The church was erected with funds from the Gagarin family. In the center of the village of Mikhaltsevo, there was also a wooden chapel. The church land occupies 34 desyatinas and 1044 square sazhen. On the church grounds, there are two houses: one for the priest and the other for the psalmist.
