The wooden church in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God was built in 1913 according to a standard project, similar to those used in the villages of Trubetchino, Novo-Yeremkino, and Baideryakovo. According to data from the same year, there were 890 men and 851 women of Chuvash nationality living in the village of Malyachkino in 303 households. In 1919, during the suppression of the 'chapannoe' uprising, 17 people were shot near the church. Since 1916, Father Mikhail Danilov served in the village, who died in the winter of 1929 and was buried in the local cemetery.

The church was closed in 1936 by the decision of the Regional Executive Committee on April 4. The FSB archives contain data on repressed residents of the village who suffered for their faith. Among them was priest Ivan Mikhailovich Samarkin, shot in 1938 in Syzran, and the chairman of the church council Pavel Leontievich Antonov, sentenced to 10 years in concentration camps. The names of the executed members of the church council are also known: Yegor Abramovich Danilov, Nikita Andreevich Zakharov, Yermil Ivanovich Kharitonov, and nun Darya Nikitievna Erofeeva. Trofim Nikitovich Danilov and Ksenia Afanasyevna Yaranova were also sentenced to 10 years in concentration camps.

After the church was closed, bricks and icons from the church in the district center of Shigony were brought to Malyachkino, some of which the residents hid in their homes. After that, people traveled to services in Syzran, prayed at home with closed windows, and gathered secretly, like the first Christians.

The restoration of the church began in 1990 with the blessing of Bishop Eusebius Savvin of Kuibyshev and Syzran. In 1991, Father Dmitry Babak became the rector of the Kazan Church, now a protodeacon, who has served here for over 25 years. Thanks to his efforts, the church was restored, and a Sunday school was opened.
