Dmitrievo-Pomryaskino was founded in 1679 on the right bank of the Uren River by Mordovian settlers from the Kazan and Arzamas districts. Researchers believe that the name Pomryaskino is related to the common Mordovian name Pomryasko.

The modern name of the village, Dmitrievo-Pomryaskino, has historical roots. In 1736, a wooden church dedicated to St. Dmitry of Thessalonica was built here, and the village became known as Dmitrievo, Pomryaskino. However, in 1840, the church burned down in a large fire. Although the residents could have built a new church with the same altar, it was unnecessary since there was already another church in the village. Over time, the altar of St. Dmitry of Thessalonica was forgotten, but the prefix remained in the official name of the village.

The church was built in 1816 thanks to the efforts of noblewoman Anna Mikhailovna Naumova. This construction was an expression of gratitude to the soldiers and the entire Russian people for their victory in the Patriotic War of 1812. The church was made of stone and was warm. In 1840, it suffered from a fire, but was restored the following year by landowner Nikolai Mikhailovich Naumov.

The church had three altars: the main one was dedicated to the Kazan Mother of God. In the right chapel, built in 1858, was the altar of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, and in the left, the Archangel Michael and other Heavenly Powers.

Next to the church, a stone chapel was built by landowner Dmitry Evlampievich Nechaev. These good deeds became an example for future generations of the village's residents.

By 1859, Dmitrievo-Pomryaskino had 124 households and 1,051 residents. After the abolition of serfdom, three peasant communities formed in the village: two former landowner communities and one from former state peasants, including one-dweller families.

In 1930, the village had 333 households and 1,546 residents. In the same year, the bells were removed from the church, and in 1932 it was closed and the building was used as a warehouse.
