This was a Patriarchal estate, first mentioned in 1504. The church in honor of the Kazan Mother of God with a chapel dedicated to Saints Boris and Gleb is mentioned in documents from 1628. At the same time, there was another wooden church dedicated to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker. In 1790, a stone temple with three altars was built with the funds of clergymen and parishioners: the main altar in honor of the Kazan Mother of God, and two in the warm refectory, in honor of the holy princes Boris and Gleb and Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker. In 1889, a school was opened in the village of Bulanovo with the funds of the Tarasov merchants, which had a house church with an altar in honor of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God. This church was attached to the Borisoglebsk parish, which included the villages: Ulybyshevo, Zanino, Vanevka, Golovino, Mikhalyevo, Rogovo, Fedurnovo, Lopukhino, Cherepovo, Prokunino, Kryukovo, and Bulanovo.

After the revolution in 1922, valuables were seized from the church. In the 1920s, Hieromonk Athanasius Sakharov came to serve in the church, who later became a saint. In 1927, parish priest A. I. Sofiyskiy was repressed. In 1930, priest Alexander Orlov was arrested for the first time, and then again in 1938. Services in the church continued until 1939, however, the bells were removed in the 1930s. According to the villagers, the sound of the largest bell could be heard even in Vladimir. The church was finally closed in 1940-1941. The first service after a long break took place on Easter 1996.
