In 1902, the community was transformed into a dormitory monastery, which began to develop rapidly. New churches, cells, and utility buildings were constructed. The benefactors of the monastery were Astrakhan merchants I.I. Gubin, G.S. Kulikov, and I.S. Tsvetkov. That same year, the refectory church was consecrated in honor of the Iver Icon of the Holy Mother of God.
