The village of Uspenskoe is located in the Pervomaisky District. According to the order of the Department for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod Region dated April 24, 2000, the rural Uspenskaya Church was recognized as an object of historical and cultural heritage. In the upper floor of the church are the altars: the main altar of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos and the chapel of Saint Alexius, Metropolitan of Moscow. The lower floor contains warm altars: the main altar of Archangel Michael and the chapel in honor of the icon of the Mother of God "Relieve My Sorrows." The church dates back to 1696 and is the oldest stone rural church in the Tyoshko-Moksha region of the Nizhny Novgorod region. However, order No. 5-OD lost its force on October 20, 2014, according to order No. 159 of the State Heritage Protection Department of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

In 2009, a wooden church was built in the village in honor of John the Theologian.
