In 1849, an independent Yeloshnoe parish was established with a wooden church of the prophet Elijah, managed by the Tobolsk bishop. The parish included not only the village of Yeloshnoe but also the villages of Kuznetsova, Menshikova, and Svetlaya. In 1854, permission was granted to consecrate the church, which soon took place. However, on May 4, 1858, the church burned down, although some utensils and the iconostasis were saved. The parishioners decided to build a new wooden church to replace the lost one.

On June 21, 1859, the priest of the Sretenskaya church in the village of Morshikhinskoye, Mikhail Ivanitsky, laid the foundation for the new church. The construction was undertaken by a peasant from the village of Suerskaya, Ivan Karih. On July 19, 1860, the new Yeloshnoe church was consecrated. By 1888, it had become cramped, and the icons in the iconostasis had deteriorated to the point that the faces on them were almost indistinguishable. Therefore, a decision was made to build a new stone church.

The site for the new church was chosen in the square among the village, next to the old one. The project was developed by architect Anatoly Permyakov, and the construction was entrusted to a peasant from the village of Pletnevaya, Egor Makarov. The work on the iconostasis was entrusted to the Moscow firm of Pyotr Sizov. On the night of December 26, 1914, the old wooden church burned down.

On July 19, 1916, in the presence of a large crowd, Bishop Varna of Tobolsk consecrated the new church.

In the early 1910s, the Yeloshnoe parish included the village itself and the villages of Kuznetsova, Menshikova, Suerskaya, Balakulskaya, Svetlaya, and Kabakova. Since 1888, a church-parish school had been operating here.

In 1923, by decision of the general meeting of the residents of Yeloshnoe, the church building was converted into a grain storage facility, and later the bell tower was destroyed. The church remained in this state until the early 2010s.

Currently, the church is abandoned. You can enter and see what remains. Some windows are intact, while others are lost. The roof is overgrown with grass. The dome with the cross has survived, although the dome's covering is already peeling. Restoration of the church is planned. One part of the building is locked and inaccessible; presumably, services are held there.
