In six months, an abandoned club building has transformed into a church, consecrated in honor of the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos of Consolation or Comfort. Work continued throughout the winter, and even in 25-degree frost, the church dome was installed. Many doubted that a club could be turned into a temple, as in Russia, for a long time, churches were converted into clubs. However, Ekaterina Balabanova, the project's initiator, assured journalists last autumn that services would begin there in the summer, and she kept her word. The church still needs new flooring and heating and electricity installed.

In the village of Pet'yaly in Mari El, there is a church with a miraculous cross, where there is no electricity, so as not to spoil the atmosphere, according to local believers. Ekaterina Vasilyevna is also considering whether to bring electricity to the Church of Consolation or Comfort, where the windows are located on the roof, creating a mysterious twilight. Candles with their flickering light make prayer more focused.

The church is a house church, part of the Monastery of Comfort, and is intended for the sick. Nearby, there were plans to build a hospice for the disabled and elderly lonely people, but it did not succeed. The building was divided into two parts: one for the church, the other for a spiritual center for people with disabilities. There was not enough space for the hospice. Ekaterina Vasilyevna is asking the authorities to transfer to her the vacant building of the former school, but it has been put up for auction. She is confident that this is the perfect place for a hospice and is ready to take on the reconstruction next year.

Ekaterina Vasilyevna can be trusted, as she has already managed to build two churches near the Avangard stadium and on Zagorodnaya Street. Moreover, the construction of the latter was not financed by wealthy sponsors. Only two contributed large sums: Yelabuga entrepreneur Leonid Baryshev, 200,000 rubles, and Samara resident Vasily Azbukhin, 137,000 rubles. Entrepreneur Vladimir Yeremeyev from Zelenodolsk donates small amounts monthly. The rest of the funds were collected from ordinary believers, some giving a hundred, some a thousand rubles. One woman donated 20,000 rubles on the condition that a place in the hospice would be reserved for her.

With the collected donations, the church completely replaced the roof, plastered the walls, and installed the iconostasis.
