After the collapse of the USSR, the revival of Orthodox traditions began in Rostov-on-Don, and new churches started to appear on the sites of destroyed ones. In 1993, with the efforts of local Orthodox Christians, the St. George Parish was established. The new church was built in two years, and the first service took place in 1994. Since then, services in the church have been held regularly.

In 2003, the construction of a substantial extension to the old church building began. Until 2007, its decoration was carried out: the altar and vaults of the church were painted with canonical images in the ancient Russian style, the walls and vaults were adorned with stucco, and a metal fence was installed around the church. Then, a second floor was built over part of the church, which housed the rector's office and reception area, a classroom for the Sunday school for 40 students, a library with a reading room, a dining room, and utility rooms. A passage was made from the altar and central part of the church to the second floor. An altar apse was added to the small chapel, which housed the sacristy and a rest room for the altar servers. On the first floor of the church building, new spaces were created for the church shop, accounting office, and rest area for the duty staff. Currently, the rector of the church is Archpriest Vladimir, who has made a significant contribution to the development of the parish.
