The history of the Dyakovo church and its parish begins in the second half of the 17th century. The land registry books of 1676 mention that "the settlement of Dyakovo on the Kutreny heights" was among the State's plowed villages. At that time, there was a wooden church dedicated to St. George the Victorious, with three bells on the bell tower. The church was built in 1644 with donations from parishioners. It was surrounded by a fence on oak posts with gates. At that time, the priest was Mikhail Markelov.

In the settlement of Dyakovo, there were 64 residents. From the tax books of 1676, it is known that the parish included the village of Dyakovo and the village of Skolkovo with ten peasant households.

Until 1806, the wooden church remained in Dyakovo. It is unknown whether it was rebuilt in the 18th century. In 1806, thanks to the efforts of the deacon Gerasim Iosifovich and the parishioners, the construction of a stone church began, which was consecrated in 1810. In 1833, the refectory was expanded, and an altar was arranged in honor of St. Demetrius of Thessalonica.

In 1896, the refectory was expanded again to create another altar in honor of the icon of the Mother of God of the Quick to Hear, and the church had three altars. A wooden carved canopy was installed over the main altar. The church was well supplied with utensils, vestments, icons, and liturgical books.

Since the early 18th century, the church had an altar Gospel with the inscription: "In September 1705, this Gospel was presented by Her Majesty, the noblewoman Anna Leontyevna Naryshkina." The clergy included a priest and a psalmist who lived in church houses. The church land included 1.5 desyatinas of homestead land, 28 desyatinas of arable land, and 4 desyatinas of haymaking land, and there was a plan and boundary book.

The parish consisted of the village of Dyakovo and the villages of Oltunina, Altunino, Skolkovo, and Surskoye, where the clerical records listed 160 households, 640 men, and 673 women. In 1886, a church-parish school opened in Dyakovo, where 26 students were enrolled in 1896.

At the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century, the priest was Mikhail Tselebrovsky. In the early 20th century, priests Mikhail Orlov, Alexei Zabelin, Grigory Veselovsky, and Mikhail Pokrovsky served in the village. The deacons and psalmists were Vasily Solovyov, Sergey Delektorovsky, Alexei Milovidov, and V. Savinov.

Like many churches in the Vachsky district, the church in honor of St. George the Victorious in the village of Dyakovo was closed in 1938. Years later, in 2004, the restoration of the church began, and the first prayer service was held that same year.

On August 8, 2010, on the eve of the feast day of St. Panteleimon the Great Martyr and Healer, the archpriest of the Kulebaki district, Father David Pokrovsky, consecrated the crosses and domes of the church in honor of St. George the Victorious.
