In the Kaduy district, there were many churches, but there was never a church in the settlement of Kaduy itself. The believing residents of the settlement traveled to church in Cherepovets or gathered for services in private apartments. Father Georgy Trubitsin came from Cherepovets to conduct services. With the increasing number of believers, the settlement administration allocated a room for worship in the district House of Culture at their request. The first liturgy was held there in 1992.

In 1993, an organizational meeting took place, and the Kaduy parish was named the Epiphany Parish. On October 8, 1993, a plot of land was allocated for the construction of the parish church. In 1994, at the request of the parishioners, a room was allocated in the district library to set up a prayer room. In September of the same year, the cornerstone was laid at the site of the future temple.

The construction of the church was carried out with donations from the residents of the settlement and funds provided by the district administration. In October 1997, a minor consecration of the church took place. Services in the new church began in January 1998, and in October of the same year, the church was consecrated in honor of the Kaduy saint, the venerable Philip of Irappo. The church was built according to the traditional scheme of churches in the Russian North. After the relics of the venerable Philip of Irappo were discovered in 2000, a part of his relics was solemnly transferred to the church in a procession.
