Church of Elizabeth in Velikodvorsky

Фото 1
Throughout its existence, the church has undergone significant changes multiple times. During the Soviet period, the wooden part of the building, which was twice as long, housed a children's orphanage. In the late 1990s, the most dilapidated part was dismantled, and the main volume made of logs was built up, giving the structure a church-like appearance. The stone altar part with an open gallery, distinguished by its remarkable architecture, has been preserved since the 19th century. Thus, the Elizabethan Church in the village of Velikodvorsky today is likely the only one combining wooden and brick elements.

The church is active and was re-consecrated in 2000. Its domes can be seen from the Gusy-Hrustalny highway, Ryazan, upon entering the village of Velikodvorsky.
