Church of Elizabeth in Malo-Gagarino

Фото 1
The Elizabethan church, built of brick and having one altar, was erected with funds from the local landowner Prince Gagarin. In 1869, the building was reconstructed thanks to financing from Count N.T. Baranov. Although the church was intended to be heated, it was not heated due to a lack of funds.

The parish was part of the estate of Grand Duke Nikolai Nikolaevich, which was located on 400 desyatinas of land near the church. In 1911, the parish had a priest and a psalmist, and the metric books had been maintained since 1810. In 1909, Priest A. Nenarakov was awarded a pectoral cross, and in 1913, Priest I. Krotkov taught the law of God in the school. The church was closed no later than 1941 and is currently abandoned.
