The church in the Galich district is a vivid example of late 18th-century architecture, combining archaic volumetric-spatial solutions characteristic of the previous century with baroque facade decor. Built of brick in 1789 on the site of an earlier wooden church, it is located in a village that belonged to F.A. Golitsyn in the early 18th century, and later passed into joint ownership of the Shcherbatov and Tolstoy families, remaining with them until the mid-19th century. Due to its monumental proportions, the church stands out against the flat landscape of the village. The building is situated on a vast square on the eastern outskirts of the village, and the adjacent territory was once surrounded by a brick fence. Nearby, to the northwest, a small brick watchman's house from the 19th-20th centuries has survived. During a major renovation in 1901, the walls of the church were plastered, the roofs covered with iron, the floors replaced, and new stoves installed. The architectural composition of the church includes a pillarless five-domed square with windows in two lights, a low five-sided apse, a wide refectory, and a two-tiered tent bell tower with side chapels. The side facades, partially covered by the apses of the refectory, are divided into two tiers by a cornice that continues along the upper part of the walls. The side chapels of the bell tower, along with the refectory, form a single volume that includes the lower tier of the bell tower. Above it rises an octagonal drum with ringing arches and a tent with dormer windows.

The cornices of the building are complemented by bands of small bricks, and the walls are divided by pilasters. On the square of the church, the cornices form a wide entablature, and the corners are reinforced with paired pilasters. The windows with arched lintels are framed by baroque surrounds with ears and wide cornices. On the eastern side of the apse, topped with a pediment, the window surround is highlighted by a triangular cornice. The domes of the church have retained a cladding of roofing iron laid in a "fish scale" pattern.

The square of the church is covered by a four-part closed vault, opening into a light aperture of the central drum. The apse has a faceted closed vault, the refectory and chapels have a trough vault with ribs, the apses of the chapels have half-trough vaults, and the lower tier of the bell tower and side chapels have box vaults. On the walls, remnants of heavily soot-covered oil paintings have survived.

A small brick watchman's house is located to the northwest of the church.
