The museum first opened its doors to visitors in 1991. On its territory, there are a ratn-khot and yunty khar with a ground-based pyramidal dwelling, as well as summer and winter dwellings dug into the ground.

The playground is equipped for archery, competitions in 'Kusyn' and 'Kulyuh', sled jumping, and throwing tynzyan at khorey. On the 'Reindeer herders, nomads' site, two chums have been built: a summer and a winter fur one, a corral, a pen for reindeer, a house for reindeer, and various sleds.

The 'Fisher-hunter's camp, leading a semi-nomadic lifestyle' includes a winter hut, three labazas, a hearth, a bread oven, a nanny kor, and a shed for storing and drying items. On the hunter and fisher's trail, one can see traps for game, fur-bearing animals, and fish, as well as a temporary shelter for fishermen. Both ancient and modern fishing tools and means of transportation are presented here. The entrance to the museum is designed as a fortified settlement surrounded by a fence made of poles.
