Chapel of the Holy Trinity in Yakovlevo

Фото 1
The village of Yakovlevo was part of the parish of the Resurrection Church in the village of Pavlovskoye, which was a 6-verst walk in one direction. In the late 19th century, peasants from Yakovlevo built a brick chapel on the shore of a pond in their village in honor of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity, where services were held on Trinity Day.

In the 1960s, Yakovlevo was listed among the so-called unpromising villages. By 1973, only three residents remained in the village, living in two houses. In 1977, by decision of the Vladimir Regional Executive Committee, the village of Yakovlevo was removed from the list of populated areas.

All that remains of the vanished village are the ruins of the chapel and an overgrown pond.
