The wooden chapel, clad in planks, typical of buildings in Vymi in the second half of the 19th century, is located in the village of the Shezham parish. It is a single-room square structure with a dome-shaped roof and a narthex, above which rises a bell tower. It was part of the Shezham (Aikin) parish. During the Soviet era, it was used as a storage facility, but it is now well-maintained.

The building belongs to small wooden cult structures with a three-tiered bell tower. In plan, it represents a sequential connection of a small porch, a narthex with a staircase to the bell tower, a refectory leading into a square prayer room. Main dimensions: length 8.65 m, width 4.05 m, height 8.00 m. The walls are hewn "in the oblo", and all rooms have flat ceilings. The bell tower is topped with an octagonal decorative vault with a drum and a dome (the spire is lost). The roof is made of metal. The Ilyin Chapel, located on the main street of the village of Zarechye, harmoniously fits into the village's architecture, standing out in height due to its octagonal dome. The foundation is made of boulders, the roof is metal, and there is no decoration.

The interior space of the chapel is simple, divided into cells, with almost equal room heights. Dimensions of the main rooms: narthex, length 2.15 m, width 3.50 m, height 3.50 m; temple, length 3.45 m, width 3.50 m, height 5.00 m; refectory, length 1.85 m, width 3.50 m, height 3.50 m; open porch, length 0.60 m, width 3.50 m, height 3.00 m. The chapel in Zarechye is a characteristic example of cult structures from the 19th century in the Usty- Vym district. No restoration has been carried out, but the condition is good, although the spire on the bell tower is missing, and the lower crown of the logs has rotted.
