In the second half of the 18th century, the chapel in Mangue became known separately from the village due to a series of circumstances. Its image is often found in guidebooks, starting with the book "Russia. Complete geographical description of our homeland..." published in the early 20th century under the editorship of Veniamin Petrovich Semenov-Tyan-Shansky. The chapel is known as typically Karelian or northern.

The history of the monument before it was transferred to the museum is as follows: initially, the chapel was built without a bell tower. In the early 19th century, the gallery was turned into a vestibule, the northern porch was dismantled, and the gallery was clad with planks on the outside. At that time, the bell tower was possibly built. In the second half of the 19th century, during repairs, the traditional roofs were replaced with straight-cut planks, the building was clad with planks on the outside and the vestibule on the inside. The windows and the bell tower's underpinnings acquired an arched shape, the building was painted, the crosses were clad in iron, and the beam iconostasis was replaced with a framed order type.

The volumetric-planning structure of the chapel includes a higher temple part in the shape of a parallelepiped with a gable roof and a dome, as well as a wider dining room log cabin with a vestibule attached from the west, united by a common gable roof.

Structurally, the building is made of logs, hewn "in the round." The roof over the prayer room is made of red planks with rounded ends, while over the dining room and porches, it is traditional, according to the chickens and streams. The walls inside are smoothly hewn, the ceilings at different levels, flat on beams "in a staggered pattern" with notches. The floor has no threshold. The log cabin of the prayer room and the octagonal bell tower are hewn with fallen trees. The foundation is made of rubble stone, the roofs are laid with a covering of road and laid planks in two layers. The rafter tent is made of planed boards, the floors and ceilings are made of slabs on beams. The chapel's windows are three-arched.

The exterior of the chapel is decorated with a crest with through carving of triangles above the eaves of the dining room and prayer room. The ends have contour and recessed carving, the shelves of the tent are decorated with circular carving. The bell tower's columns are rectangular, the railing of the ringing tier is made of flat balusters with carving. The domes of onion shape are covered with scaly triangular shingles, the windows of the prayer room have arched shapes and a carved cornice.

The interior of the chapel includes benches along the walls of the dining room, the supports of which are covered with figured balusters. A carved underlining runs along the edge of the benches. The interior decoration of the chapel has been lost, but a fragment of a beam with a plant ornament has survived on one of the walls. Near the windows in the prayer room, two late choir stalls with a railing made of vertical bars with notches have been preserved.
