Chapel of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Nevadyevo

Фото 1
Anastasia Mikhailovna Gureeva, a native of the former village of Nevadyevo, in her maiden name Mamonova, recalls that between approximately 1910 and 1915, parishioners built a wooden chapel in the local cemetery dedicated to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. Inside the chapel, various icons were placed, there was a small wooden table and benches, and candlesticks were on the table. At that time, the chapel was well-equipped with everything necessary. Anastasia Mikhailovna remembers that the chapel was maintained: regular repairs were conducted and the interior was improved. However, over time, as the village fell into decline and the church was destroyed, the chapel became dilapidated. Today, there are no permanent residents in Nevadyevo, and the village is gradually being overgrown with grass, bushes, and trees.
