The oldest witness to the history of Sanino is the small river Uechka, which resembles more of a stream. It flows peacefully past the village, occupying the valley between Nerlya and Pechuga. In ancient times, before the arrival of the Slavs, Uechka was a full-flowing river, and the first inhabitants of Suzdal land drank its water and watered their cattle from it. Now, however, the river has almost dried up, but on the outskirts of the village, about five hundred meters from the church, there is a life-giving spring, to which believers come at any time of day to collect water. A wooden house has been built over the spring, but people do not bathe in it; they only pour water over themselves at any time of the year. According to legend, the spring on the monastery grounds appeared in the 17th century due to the prayers of two nuns. At that time, no miracles were noticed with the spring water. In the last century, the churches fell into disrepair and gradually collapsed. The spring was also abandoned, and local residents forgot its location. However, as soon as the nuns returned to the monastery, amazing events began to occur.
