The chapel belongs to the type of cell churches and consists of two parts built at different times: a prayer house from the late 18th century and a refectory with a vestibule separated by a crossbeam. Above the prayer house rises a dome, and above the vestibule is an octagonal bell tower with a tent roof, supported by nine columns. On the southern side, a porch on consoles is attached to the vestibule. The main decorative element of the building is the bell tower with peaked finishes, a cornice, and carved columns. In 1943, the chapel was studied by Finnish scholar Lars Peterson, and in 1963, A.V. Opolovnikov, whose project led to restoration in the same year.

The village of Vorobyah is located on the open slope of a hill descending to the lake. Almost at the top of the hill stands the chapel of Kirik and Ulita, which appears as the crown of the small settlement from the lake. The chapel is the architectural dominant of the village but remains one of the most modest structures of the 'Kizhi Necklace.' The oldest part of the chapel, the prayer house, has an independent character and, according to some researchers, may have originally served as a barn. The western part, the refectory with the vestibule, may have been transported from another location and attached to the prayer house, forming a new whole.

The western facade of the chapel, facing the lake and the village, with the verticality of the tent bell tower is perceived as the main image of the building, while the rest of the structure is hidden behind it, blending with the hill. On the northern side, several mighty spruces approach the chapel, their tops echoing the outline of the tent. The spruces stretch their shaggy branches to the south, and along with them, the chapel extends the southern eaves of its asymmetric roof and the porch platform towards the sun and warmth. This small ascetic structure demonstrates how sensitively the carpenters considered the features of the surrounding environment.
