The territory of Bazar Square, located on the eastern side of the former stone rows built in the 1860s (near the modern TSUM on N. Street), was mainly used for temporary construction structures, such as wooden trading rows. The central part of this area was allocated for the chapel of the Kazan Mother of God, which existed from the mid-1870s until the mid-1930s.

Later, a public toilet was installed on the site of the chapel. In the 1990s, temporary wooden trading rows reappeared in this area, set up so closely that they violated fire safety regulations and led to frequent fires. In the early 2000s, all temporary structures were removed, and construction began on a large modern retail building. In 2013, it was opened as the TSUM shopping complex.
