Azov Railway Station is one of the oldest operating buildings of its kind in the Rostov region. Built in 1910, it is recognized as an architectural monument of regional significance. The station began operations on December 6, 1910, when the first train arrived. Until the 1920s, passenger traffic developed actively here, but with the advent of Soviet power and the onset of repressions in the region, a period of decline began: the number of trains decreased, and people traveled less frequently.

Today, Azov Station functions as a freight station. The main cargoes include coal, construction materials, gravel, and timber sent to the port, sometimes up to 100 wagons per day. In 2010, to mark the station's 100th anniversary, the building and other station structures were renovated. Thanks to the restoration, the ensemble of buildings has preserved its historical appearance, which corresponds to its status as a cultural heritage site of regional significance.
