The merchant estate on Moskovskaya Street, 94 was built in the early 20th century. On the second floor lived the owner of the house, Elizabeth Myasnikova, while the first floor, as was customary at the time, was rented out to entrepreneurs. On the right side of the building was Rudolf Dumpha's pharmacy. Despite its narrow specialization, the pharmacist offered not only tablets, serums, and powders. His assortment included unusual items for a pharmacy, such as chemical reagents for photography, electrical goods, gasoline, as well as cosmetics and perfumes. Dumpha's perfumes and soaps were especially popular, selling like hot cakes. His 'Birch Balm' was in high demand, which, as advertised in the local press, 'is used for washing skin, face, and hands' and contains substances that do not affect the skin. The price of this product was 1 ruble 65 kopecks, which was quite affordable. There were also lipsticks in various shades and foreign cooling face creams, which were significantly more expensive than the 'Birch Balm'. Additionally, on holidays, Mr. Dumpha offered 'aromatic cakes for vodka', the nature of which is hard to understand, but it was likely some unusual snack.
