The days of tsarist power are numbered, and it has disappeared irretrievably. Tsarist power was the foundation on which Russia stood, supporting its national integrity. Now the revolution is inevitable and is only waiting for a reason to begin. This reason can be anything: a military failure, hunger, a strike in Petrograd, a rebellion in Moscow, or a palace scandal. However, revolution is not the most terrible thing that threatens Russia. Essentially, a revolution is a violent change from one regime to another. It can bring good to the people if something new can be created after the destruction. In this sense, the revolutions in France and England seem beneficial to me. But in our country, a revolution can only destroy, since the educated class constitutes a weak minority, unorganized and without political experience, disconnected from the people. This, in my opinion, is the main crime of tsarism: it did not allow the existence of other political centers besides its bureaucracy. And it did this so successfully that with the disappearance of officials, the Russian state itself will disintegrate. The signal for revolution will likely be given by the bourgeois layers, the intelligentsia, and the Cadets, hoping to save Russia. But the bourgeois revolution will quickly transform into a workers' revolution, and then into a peasant one. Then a terrible anarchy will begin, which may last a decade. We may see times like those of Pugachev or even worse. Such are the reflections of industrialist and financier A.I. Putilov, recorded by the French ambassador to Russia, Maurice Paleologue, in his diary on June 2, 1915.

He was a millionaire and one of the leading financiers and industrialists in the country. In 1912 and 1916, together with I.I. Stakheev and P.P. Batolin, he created one of the largest financial and industrial groups. Since 1916, he was a member of the partnership 'Stakheev and Co.' According to the memories of S.Y. Witte, Putilov was considered one of the most influential financiers both in Petersburg and abroad.
