The ensemble of the Horse Yard at Kuzminki Estate is one of the most impressive and memorable estate structures that have survived to this day. It is located at the main viewpoint of the estate, on the side of the pond opposite the main house, and plays a key role in shaping the estate landscape, revealing itself from different angles: from the main house, from the entrance area, and from the park.

The Horse Yard was reconstructed between 1819 and 1823 by the outstanding architect D.I. Zhilyardi based on an earlier stone building from the late 18th to early 19th century, when R.R. Kazakov and I.V. Yegotov were working at the estate.

The main view of the Horse Yard ensemble opens from the side of the pond. At the center of the composition stands the famous Music Pavilion, which burned down in 1978 and was restored in the second half of the 1980s. The Music Pavilion is surrounded by original two-story stone residential wings, facing the pond with their end facades. These wings served to accommodate the estate's guests. They are connected to the pavilion by a fence with arched niches. The arch theme set by the Music Pavilion continues in the architecture of the residential wings: a characteristic Zhilyardi technique, a pair of columns embedded in an arched niche, encompasses the windows of both floors.
