An architectural monument, built in 1833 for state councilor Natalia Naumova, was created based on one of the standard projects of the "Commission for Buildings in Moscow." Initially, it was a wooden mansion, which was later expanded with a brick annex.

In 1897, the building passed into the ownership of Prince Yevgeny Nikolaevich Volkonsky, who transformed the estate into a profitable property. At this time, the main facade was designed in the style of late eclecticism.

The modern appearance of the building was acquired in 1907. From 1926 to 2015, it housed the children's library named after N.K. Krupskaya.

In 2021, a comprehensive restoration of the building was completed. Specialists restored the brick walls, opened historical window openings in the basement, restored the "Monye" vaults, recreated window fillings in the style of 1897, and the lost four-column portico with the Volkonsky coat of arms.

One of the most challenging stages was the restoration of the rich stucco decor of the facades. Work was also carried out to strengthen the foundations and restore the interiors.
