In 1909, a four-story apartment building in the Art Nouveau style was constructed on a plot owned by the wife of a staff captain, Sofia Ignatievna Lomakina. The architect was Vitaly Semyonovich Maslennikov, and the official owner of the house was Ekaterina Dmitrievna Lomakina.

At the time of construction, Maslennikov was a young architect who had recently graduated from the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture with a Small Silver Medal. Since 1908, he had been working as an assistant to the district architect and became a member of the Moscow Architectural Society in 1912. His early projects were executed based on similar blueprints: in 1908, he built an apartment house for the heirs of Tsirkunov, and in 1909, the house for the Lomakin family, which helped reduce construction costs.

The facade of the house is asymmetrical and divided into three parts, each with its own architectural theme. The left part, with a high gable roof, is designed in the style of 'Northern Art Nouveau' and features a balcony with wrought-iron railings. The gable has a narrow loophole window, characteristic of this style, and Falconet glass blocks, which are now painted over. The right part is designed as a separate mansion with a side turret and elegant balconies. The middle part has classic Art Nouveau features with pilasters and a wavy cornice. Ornamental details and floral compositions unite the facade. In the center of the house protrudes a semicircular part of the former grand staircase, now bricked up.

The 'Falconet' glass bricks were invented by Swiss architect Gustave Falconet in the late 1880s and were used in Russia to decorate facades.

After the revolution in 1929, V.S. Maslennikov was exiled to Siberia as a 'harmful social element,' where he participated in construction and taught. The Lomakin house was nationalized and converted into communal apartments. During the reconstruction before the 1980 Olympics, the building was preserved but lost its surroundings. It now houses an office center.
