Residential Building, 1875

Фото 1
The building at the corner of Malaya Ordynka Street and Bolshoy Ordynsky Lane was constructed in 1874 as a residential house owned by the wife of state peasant R.H. Pipina.

Inside, the corridor system has been preserved with rooms on both sides of the passage, as well as stoves, multi-profile cornices, stucco rosettes, and wooden window and door fillings.

The facades of the building have retained decorative artistic design in an eclectic style: the window openings are adorned with profiled architraves with keystones, paneling stands out between the floors, and the facade is decorated with flat pilasters, rustication, and ornamental stucco.

Currently, this building houses the Russian Spiritual Theater 'Glas.' The theater was opened in 1989 and nine years later acquired this building on Ordynka, where it remains today. The founders and leading actors of the theater, Honored Artist of Russia Nikita Astakhov and Honored Artist of Russia Tatyana Belevich, are graduates of the M.S. Shchepkin Theater School.

The house is currently under restoration.
