The Zherdevsky Local History Museum was founded in 1967. It is currently located in two halls with a separate entrance and a suite system. Since 2006, it has been headed by L. P. Popovich. Throughout these years, the museum has served as a center for studying the history and nature of the native land. Among residents, field trips, creative meetings, and interest club sessions are popular.

The museum actively collaborates with educational institutions, clubs, libraries, and mass media. Trips are organized to localities in the district to collect historical materials. Annually, about 6,000 people visit the museum.

Among the museum's collection, particularly valuable items include a mammoth skull found near the village of Chikarevka, a painting by A. I. Antipov titled 'Nosovsky Monastery', as well as a square table, an armchair, and a sofa from the Nosovsky Monastery dating back to 1905, and a cup awarded to the workers of the Zherdevsky district. The museum houses and displays over 2,560 historical exhibits.
