At the beginning of the last century, Russia experienced rapid development in almost all areas of life, and the city of Azov was no exception. In 1910, a decision was made to build a power station in the city, and within a year, the project was underway. The construction of the first power station in Azov took just over a year, and it was put into operation in 1912. Even the outbreak of World War I in 1914 did not hinder the completion of the city's electrification in a short time. After the revolution, the condition of the power station gradually deteriorated, followed by World War II. However, the building of the first Azov power station survived all trials and is currently a site of cultural heritage of regional significance.
