The Merchant's Administration building, large for provincial cities of the second half of the 18th century, is a residential structure of palace type. It was erected by merchant Savostyanov between 1768 and 1773, facing a street that was eliminated in 1774. In the late 1850s, the city council acquired this building, housing the magistrate, orphan and conscience courts, as well as its administration. In 1878, the building came under the jurisdiction of the Merchant's Administration. From 1894 to 1914, the Voronezh Provincial Museum was located on the second floor of the left wing. After the Civil War, city institutions were housed here. During the Great Patriotic War, the building suffered from a fire. In 1957, it was restored and converted into a residential building with twelve apartments. From 1982 to 1984, the building was converted into a museum. Since then, it has housed the administration and collections of the I.S. Nikitin Museum, hosting permanent exhibitions, literary displays, and events. The museum grounds include parking for disabled individuals.
