One of the architectural objects of cultural heritage of regional significance is the building of the former private men's school in Nakhichevan-on-Don, opened on September 12, 1908, and functioning until the arrival of Soviet power. The initiator of its creation and owner of the school was local geography and drawing teacher Sarkis Arutyunovich Yagubyan.

This educational institution became the first men's secondary school in Nakhichevan-on-Don, which before the revolution was a separate city and not part of Rostov-on-Don. The building is now located in the Proletarsky District of Rostov-on-Don. Many honored residents attended the opening ceremony of the school, including the mayor of Rostov and Nakhichevan, Colonel Zvorikin.

The school was situated next to one of the city’s churches. The city government supported the students and the educational institution itself, and since 1912, the school received the status of a real school.

Today, the building of the former school houses the "Center for Extracurricular Activities 'Leisure'" and is protected by the state.
