In the city of Klintsy, Bryansk region, one can find many attractions, among which the Almshouse building, erected in the early 19th century, stands out. It is known that in pre-revolutionary times, elderly people without relatives lived here. The Almshouse operated on a self-financing basis, and its main benefactor was the local manufacturer D. Sapozhkov. Thanks to his financial support, the right wing of the building was constructed, and he also paid for the treatment of the elderly and purchased materials, tools, and equipment for work. In each room lived 2-3 people, and the building had a dining room and a chapel.

In 1915, the Almshouse building housed a hospital for the Red Cross, and during this time, the elderly were settled with families of benefactors. After the Civil War, the building was used as a prison for clergymen, and later a sewing factory "Der-Emes" was opened here. Today, the former Almshouse building in Klintsy serves as the first floor of the sewing factory.
