On September 23, 1924, the outstanding architect and public figure Nikolai Nikitich Durbakh passed away in Rostov-on-Don. Due to his Armenian heritage, he was buried in the local Armenian cemetery. For many years, his name was forgotten, many works of this talented master were destroyed, and his grave fell into neglect. Only in 2011 was the burial restored and received a new marble tombstone, which bears the architect's name and briefly lists his achievements as an architect and official.
