The pre-revolutionary Rear (Lower) Range Lighthouse of the Kronstadt Raid is one of the most famous architectural monuments of Kronstadt. Built in 1898 and reconstructed in 1914, the lighthouse has remained in this form to this day. Its height is 41 meters, and it is visible from a distance of 30 kilometers from Kronstadt. Local fishermen call it the Drunken Lighthouse due to its slight resemblance to the Leaning Tower of Pisa: the lighthouse is slightly tilted. In summer, it can only be reached by swimming, while in winter, by skiing or walking.

From a practical standpoint, this structure serves as the Rear Range Marker of the Kronstadt Raid. Range markers act as navigational aids, helping captains choose the correct course. They are installed on straight sections of the shipping route. Usually, there are two such markers: one closer and lower, the other further away and slightly higher. Each marker consists of a white shield with a vertical stripe. If one marker is visible above the other from the captain's bridge, and the vertical lines align, the vessel is in the fairway. At night, the closer marker shines constantly, while the further one flashes.
