The new exhibition space of the State Historical Museum, called 'Artillery Courtyard', offers visitors the opportunity to explore a rich collection of artillery pieces, accessories, and ammunition spanning from the 16th to the 20th century. The Artillery Courtyard was opened in 2014, and now the interior space of the Old Mint is freely accessible, representing a unique complex of buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries.

Previously, the museum's artillery collection was only partially displayed as part of thematic exhibitions. Now, the entire artillery collection from the museum's holdings is presented at the new venue: artillery barrels of Russian production from the 16th and 19th centuries, artillery systems from the Great Patriotic War, as well as samples of ammunition from the 19th and 20th centuries.

The exhibition space is organized in such a way that the exhibits are grouped chronologically across several areas: 'Russian Gunmaking of the 16th-17th Centuries', 'Artillery of the 18th-19th Centuries', and 'Artillery Systems of the 20th Century'.

The exhibition allows visitors to freely approach each exhibit within the space.
