The famous Franco-Russian ballerina Nina Vladimirovna Vyrobova belonged to the generation of Russian emigration that grew up and lived their entire lives abroad. She was born on November 4, 1921, when the Civil War had already ended. However, shortly after her birth, Nina's father was killed by Red Army soldiers, and her mother was forced to flee with her daughter. Thanks to her French roots and the USSR's desire to gain support from France, the widowed mother was able to move to France, taking three-year-old Nina with her. It was there that the girl first saw ballet, which became her life's work.

In France, Nina became a student of the great Russian ballerina and teacher Olga Preobrazhenskaya, and her interest in ballet was sparked by her mother's passion. The young ballerina's first performances took place at charity events and concerts, after which she joined the famous Russian ballet of Sergei Diaghilev. Nina managed to make a name for herself in a number of successful performances before the arrival of German troops, and then, returning to France, she continued her career and was a prima ballerina for over ten years.

In 1957, Nina Vyrobova's contract with the Grand Opera and Serge Lifar ended, and she joined the ballet company of the renowned Chilean specialist Georges de Cuevas, where she performed until the troupe disbanded. In 1961, Nina joined the 'Russian Ballet of Monte Carlo,' which became her last place of work as a ballerina. In 1966, she began teaching and dedicated the rest of her life to helping young talents find their way in ballet. Nina lived for 86 years, passed away in June 2007, and was buried at the cemetery of Saint-Genèvieve-des-Bois.
