The eastern wing of the merchant estate on Nikoloyamskaya Street, No. 51 is a valuable example of a small Moscow building from the 18th century in the style of early classicism, which has hardly changed over more than two centuries. This little house with three windows seems to invite us on a journey into the past, to the era of Catherine, when wealthy merchants were arranging their estates in the eastern part of Moscow between Taganskaya Square and the Spaso-Andronikov Monastery. These estates, preserved to this day, shape the historical appearance of Nikoloyamskaya Street.

The formation of the urban estate in this area began as early as the 17th century, as evidenced by the presence of a stone chamber and a hallway from that time, which have survived in the foundation of the main house.

The construction of the wings began in the late 18th century when the owner of the estate became merchant P.Ya. Pishchalnikov, who also owned the neighboring plot No. 53. The old service buildings inherited from previous owners were replaced with stone wings.

The location of the wings indicates the owner's desire to create an ensemble in the spirit of Moscow classicism. The end facades of the wings, extended deep into the plot, are aligned with the red line of the street. The eastern wing turned out to be almost half the length of the western one, but the symmetrical arrangement relative to the main house deep in the yard allowed for the creation of an orderly composition and a small ceremonial courtyard. Thus, behind the Earth Rampart (now the Garden Ring), the composition of the wealthy noble estates of the White City was reproduced. Unlike the western wing, which was reconstructed and decorated along with the main house, the eastern wing has retained its original appearance.

Experts note the characteristic vertical niches and panels above the windows typical of its era. Some interesting details of the decoration and layout were discovered during restoration, such as the archivolts of the bricked-up arched passages on the side facade. These arches appeared as a result of the building's reconstruction in the 1860s when part of the wing was converted into a carriage house. The wing is adorned with a plaster cornice with a frieze and rectangular panels.

Vaulted ceilings have been preserved on the first floor and in the basement of the building, and in the basement, there is a single-column chamber with niches for stoves and vents from the late 18th and the second half of the 19th century.

During the Soviet era, the wing was used as workshops and communal apartments.

The eastern wing, like the main house and the western wing of this estate, is a cultural heritage site of federal significance.
