The buildings of the monastery have a history of over a century. Previously, this site housed the Stavropol Zemstvo City Hospital, founded by Yevgraf Osipov. The construction of the hospital began in 1868 and was completed in 1872. Until 1953, the hospital was used for its intended purpose. However, starting in 1953, due to the construction of the Kuibyshev Hydroelectric Power Station, changes began in both the city and the hospital.

Several years ago, the former hospital gained new significance. From a place of physical healing, it transformed into a spiritual one. The Resurrection Monastery began its activities with the Assumption parish. In 1995, a plot of land was allocated for the construction of the Assumption Cathedral in Portposelok. Temporary premises were needed for the construction of the cathedral, and in November 1995, the city’s cultural administration signed a lease agreement with the Assumption parish for four buildings of the former hospital for 5 years.

In 1996, a fund was registered in Tolyatti for the construction of the spiritual and cultural center “Resurrection,” which was to assist in the restoration of the former hospital buildings. It included well-known residents of Tolyatti, politicians, businessmen, and enterprise leaders. For the spiritual care of the community, one of the former hospital premises was decided to be converted into a church. In the autumn of 1996, the arrangement of the house church began, with sketches developed by Tolyatti artists Alexander Petrov, his father Viktor Petrov, Alexander Shalyakin, PTIS teacher Vladimir Nadein with his students, and carpenter Alexander Inyutkin.

On July 17, 2006, the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church appointed Archimandrite Hermogen as the abbot of the Holy Resurrection Monastery. Under his leadership, new facilities appeared in the monastery: an economic building, a prosphora room, a food warehouse, a preliminary food processing workshop, a new building for the brotherhood, and a hotel for pilgrims accommodating 40 people. A new monastery wall was erected on the side of the Zhiguli Sea, and the main eastern entrance was adorned with new holy gates. A parking lot for pilgrims and parishioners was arranged, gas, water, and heating were installed, and the Abbot's and Brotherhood buildings were restored. By the 10th anniversary of the monastery, the Church of the Resurrection of Christ underwent a major renovation: the interior was completely changed, the walls and ceilings were decorated with wall icons and Orthodox ornaments, and the exterior of the building was updated. Flowerbeds were planted along the road to the church.

On September 24, 2005, in the refectory building of the monastery, Archbishop Sergey of Samara and Syzran consecrated the church in honor of St. Silouan of Athos.

In 2008, on the Day of the Feast of the Resurrection, after the festive liturgy, Archbishop Sergey of Samara and Syzran consecrated the site for the construction of a church in honor of the icon of the Mother of God “Consolation and Comfort.”

Currently, the arrangement of the monastery continues. The Abbot's and Brotherhood building No. 1 has been completely reconstructed, and an economic building and a hotel for pilgrims have been built. Plans are underway for the construction of an archbishop's house and the reconstruction of Brotherhood buildings 2 and 3.

Construction of the church in honor of the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos “Consolation and Comfort” is ongoing. By the end of 2016, the walls of the monastery were erected, the roof of the church was covered, and 7 domes were installed. The territory of the monastery is being improved.
