On November 3, 1989, the first nun arrived in Zimovenka. The next day, on November 4, during the feast of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, Bishop Juvenaly consecrated the site for the construction of the monastery. In 1993, a dependency of the monastery was opened in Belgorod.

Initially, the monastery in the village of Zimovenka was called the Martha-Mary Women's Monastery. In December 1999, it was renamed Resurrection in honor of the main church. In the following two years, a monastic building, a refectory, garages were constructed, and the monastic life was organized according to the established order.

The opening of the Resurrection Women's Monastery in Zimovenka was blessed by the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church (excerpt from Journal No. 125) on December 28, 1999. The monastery is communal, with daily full cycles of worship. The sisters perform duties in the monastery churches, in the refectory, as well as on the territory and dependency of the monastery.
